Sileo is an oromucosal gel containing 0.1 mg/mL dexmedetomidine hydrochloride. Specifically formulated for transmucosal absorption in dogs to provide anxiolysis without clinically meaningful sedation, indicated for the treatment of noise aversion (fear and anxiety associated with fireworks, thunderstorms, construction, or travel).

Indications

  • Treatment of noise aversion in dogs associated with fireworks, thunderstorms, construction, gunshots, or other loud noises.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in dogs with severe cardiovascular, renal, or hepatic disease.

  • Do not use in dogs that are clinically depressed or lethargic.

Precautions

  • Dexmedetomidine is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonist; monitor heart rate and mucous membrane color.

Side Effects

  • Transient pale mucous membranes, sedation, bradycardia, hypothermia, or mild emesis.
