Valbazen (albendazole) Broad-Spectrum Dewormer Suspension is an oral anthelmintic containing 113.6 mg/mL (11.36%) albendazole. Indicated for the removal and control of adult liver flukes, heads and segments of tapeworms, stomach worms, intestinal worms, and lungworms in cattle and sheep.

Indications

  • Control of adult Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke) in cattle and sheep.

  • Control of heads and segments of Moniezia benedeni and Moniezia expansa (tapeworms).

  • Control of adult and fourth-stage larvae of Ostertagia ostertagi (including inhibited larvae), Haemonchus placei, Trichostrongylus axei, Cooperia spp., and Nematodirus spp.

  • Control of adult and larval Dictyocaulus viviparus (lungworm).

Contraindications

  • Do not administer to female cattle during the first 45 days of pregnancy or for 45 days after removal of bulls.

  • Do not administer to ewes during the first 30 days of pregnancy or for 30 days after removal of rams.

Precautions

  • Accurate animal weight determination and calibrated equipment are essential.

  • Keep out of reach of children.

Side Effects

  • Safe at recommended dosages; teratogenic/embryotoxic effects reported if administered during early embryonic organogenesis.
