Vanguard B Oral is an avirulent live culture vaccine of Bordetella bronchiseptica for oral administration to healthy dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age or older. Administered directly into the buccal cavity (inside of the cheek) to stimulate rapid mucosal immunity against canine infectious tracheobronchitis (kennel cough) without intranasal sneezing or discomfort.

Indications

  • Active immunization of healthy dogs 8 weeks of age or older as an aid in preventing canine infectious tracheobronchitis (kennel cough) caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica.

Contraindications

  • NEVER inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly (parenteral injection may cause severe localized abscess or systemic reaction).

  • Do not use in dogs receiving immunosuppressive therapy or concurrent antibacterials effective against Bordetella.

Precautions

  • For oral mucosal administration only.

Side Effects

  • Mild transient coughing or vomiting in rare instances.
