Vanguard Plus 5 L4 is a modified live virus vaccine and Leptospira 4-way bacterin containing attenuated strains of canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza virus, canine parvovirus (including CPV-2c strain), and inactivated whole cultures of Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona. Demonstrated protection against respiratory disease, hepatitis, enteritis, and leptospirosis.

Indications

Immunization of healthy dogs 6 weeks of age or older against canine distemper virus, infectious canine hepatitis (canine adenovirus type 1), respiratory disease (canine adenovirus type 2), canine parainfluenza virus, canine parvovirus (CPV-2 and CPV-2c).

Prevention of leptospirosis and leptospiruria caused by Leptospira canicola, L. grippotyphosa, L. icterohaemorrhagiae, and L. pomona.
Contraindications

Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches.

Do not vaccinate clinically ill or immunosuppressed dogs.
Precautions

Contains gentamicin as a preservative. Epinephrine should be available in case of rare post-vaccinal anaphylaxis.
Side Effects

Mild lethargy, temporary local soreness at the injection site, transient fever.
