Diclofenac

In cattle, pigs and non-food-producing horses: treatment of pain and inflammatory conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders; veterinary diclofenac injection products are authorised for intramuscular and/or intravenous use in these target species.

Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or the excipients. Do not use in animals with gastrointestinal disorders, particularly ulcerative lesions or gastrointestinal bleeding; hepatic, cardiac or renal dysfunction; or haemorrhagic disorders. Do not use in newly born animals.

Avoid use in dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animals because of increased risk of renal toxicity. Do not administer concurrently with glucocorticoids, other NSAIDs or anticoagulants. Use during pregnancy is not recommended. Monitor for gastrointestinal, renal and hepatic adverse effects and for injection-site reactions.

Gastrointestinal irritation or ulceration, renal failure and hepatic alterations may occur. In cattle, intramuscular administration may cause transient swelling and moderate pain at the injection site. Anorexia and haemorrhage may occur in horses. Rare allergic reactions may occur.
