Paracetamol

Symptomatic treatment of fever in the context of respiratory diseases in pigs, in combination with appropriate anti-infective therapy when necessary.

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or the excipient. Do not use in animals with severe hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, dehydration or hypovolaemia.

Animals with reduced water intake and/or disturbed general condition should be treated parenterally. In combined viral and bacterial disease, appropriate anti-infective therapy should be given concomitantly. Concurrent administration of nephrotoxic drugs should be avoided.

Rare: transient soft faeces, which may persist for up to 8 days after withdrawal and resolves without specific treatment.
