Infectious Bursal Disease

An acute, highly contagious viral disease of young chickens characterized by profuse whitish diarrhea, depression, ruffled feathers, dehydration, and lesions of the bursa of Fabricius leading to immunosuppression due to destruction of B-lymphocytes.
