Defensor 3 is an inactivated, adjuvanted rabies virus vaccine prepared from fixed rabies virus strain grown in cell culture. Demonstrated 3-year duration of immunity in dogs and cats and 1-year duration in cattle and sheep against virulent rabies challenge.

Indications

  • Immunization of healthy dogs, cats, cattle, and sheep 3 months of age or older against rabies virus infection.

Contraindications

  • Do not vaccinate clinically ill or debilitated animals.

Precautions

  • As with any vaccine, anaphylactic reactions may occur; epinephrine should be immediately available.

Side Effects

  • Transient local swelling or tenderness at the injection site.
