Startect (derquantel 10 mg/mL and abamectin 1 mg/mL) is a novel dual-active broad-spectrum oral anthelmintic drench for sheep. Combines derquantel, the first member of the spiroindole anthelmintic class, with abamectin to treat and control multiresistant gastrointestinal nematodes in sheep and lambs.

Indications

Treatment and control of adult and larval gastrointestinal nematodes of sheep, including strains resistant to benzimidazoles, levamisole, and avermectins.

Effective against Haemonchus contortus, Teladorsagia circumcincta, Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., and Oesophagostomum columbianum.
Contraindications

Do not use in sheep weighing less than 15 kg.

Do not use in other animal species (toxic to horses and dogs).
Precautions

Accurately calibrate drenching equipment.

Derquantel and abamectin are toxic to aquatic organisms.
Side Effects

Safe at recommended dosage; transient lethargy or incoordination if severely overdosed.
