Albon Boluses (sulfadimethoxine) are oral antibacterial boluses indicated for the treatment of shipping fever complex, bacterial pneumonia, calf diphtheria, and foot rot in cattle caused by susceptible strains of Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, and Fusobacterium necrophorum.

Indications

  • Treatment of shipping fever complex and bacterial pneumonia associated with Pasteurella multocida and Mannheimia haemolytica.

  • Treatment of calf diphtheria associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum.

  • Treatment of foot rot associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in animals with known sulfonamide hypersensitivity or severe renal/hepatic impairment.

Precautions

  • Maintain adequate water intake to prevent crystalluria. Do not exceed 5 consecutive days of treatment.

Side Effects

  • Occasional anorexia, urticaria, or hematuria at excessive doses.
