Dosages

Cattle

  • Calves (oral): Administer a single 3-mL dose orally into the back of the calf mouth as soon as possible after birth (within the first 24 hours of life). (Orally) — Single dose within 24 hours of birth
  • Cows (intramuscular): Administer two 3-mL doses intramuscularly (IM) in the neck 3 to 6 weeks apart during late pregnancy, with the second dose given within 30 days prior to calving. Revaccinate with 2 doses during each subsequent pregnancy. (Intramuscular) — 2 doses 3-6 weeks apart

Indications
  • For vaccination of healthy newborn calves or pregnant cows as an aid in preventing diarrhea (scours) caused by bovine rotavirus and bovine coronavirus.
Contraindications
  • Vaccination of calves older than 1 day of age may not be effective. Do not vaccinate malnourished, parasitized, or immunocompromised animals.
Precautions
  • Store at 2° to 7°C. Do not freeze. Sterilize needles and syringes using heat, not chemicals, because disinfectant residues may inactivate the vaccine. Burn containers and unused contents. Contains gentamicin as a preservative. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. In case of anaphylaxis, administer epinephrine.
Side Effects
  • Anaphylaxis may rarely occur following vaccination; initial antidote of epinephrine is recommended.
