Quest (moxidectin 2% oral gel, 20 mg/mL) is an equine anthelmintic and boticide indicated for the treatment and control of large strongyles, encysted small strongyles (cyathostomins), pinworms, hairworms, stomach worms, and horse stomach bots in horses and ponies 6 months of age and older.

Indications

  • Treatment and control of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus, Triodontophorus serratus).

  • Treatment of encysted small strongyle larvae (cyathostomins) in the gut wall.

  • Treatment and control of ascarids, pinworms, hairworms, and stomach bots (Gasterophilus intestinalis).

Contraindications

  • Do not use in foals less than 6 months of age.

  • Do not use in sick, debilitated, or underweight horses.

Precautions

  • Accurate weight determination is essential; avoid overdosing small or miniature ponies.

Side Effects

  • Ataxia, lethargy, drooling, or facial edema if overdosed.
