Indications

  • Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.

  • Control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs.

Contraindications

  • Do not use in dogs with known hypersensitivity to carprofen or other NSAIDs.

  • Do not use in cats.

  • Do not use concurrently with other NSAIDs or systemic corticosteroids.

Precautions

  • Appropriate laboratory tests (CBC, renal and hepatic profiles) should be performed prior to and periodically during NSAID administration.

  • Use with caution in dogs with preexisting renal, hepatic, or cardiovascular disease.

  • Ensure adequate hydration and blood pressure monitoring in surgical patients.

Side Effects

  • Gastrointestinal signs: vomiting, diarrhea, melena, inappetence, and gastric ulceration.

  • Elevated liver enzymes, lethargy, or rare idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity.
