Vanguard crLyme is a chimeric recombinant canine Lyme disease vaccine containing outer surface proteins A and C (OspA and OspC) of Borrelia burgdorferi. Designed to provide dual-defense protection blocking transmission of Lyme disease spirochetes in both the tick midgut and the canine host following blacklegged tick (Ixodes scapularis) feeding.

Indications

Vaccination of healthy dogs 8 weeks of age or older as an aid in preventing clinical signs of Lyme disease and Borrelia burgdorferi infection.

Dual-defense blocking of Borrelia burgdorferi transmission in the tick vector and prevention of systemic canine dissemination.
Contraindications

Do not vaccinate debilitated, immunocompromised, or febrile dogs.
Precautions

Contains gentamicin as a preservative.

In case of anaphylaxis, administer epinephrine immediately.
Side Effects
-
Transient localized discomfort or mild swelling at injection site; lethargy or mild pyrexia resolving within 24 hours.
